#10. Zero Waste Home – Bea Johnson
In her best-selling book, Bea Johnson talks about her journey of going zero waste with her family of four. She addresses the problem of waste and how creating trash is harming ourselves, wildlife, and our planet and maps out how we can change the way we live to fix the problem.
Her tried and tested solutions can help you avoid obstacles while cutting back on wastefulness in your home as well. I can’t think of anything more important for the environment than eliminating waste, and this book is an excellent contribution to the world.
#9. Doing the Impossible: The 25 Laws for Doing the Impossible – Patrick Bet-David
This guy is on fire. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Patrick Bet-David, but he is one of the most inspiring people I have ever heard speak. I started watching his Valuetainment channel on YouTube about a year ago, and it led me to read this book.
In The 25 Laws, he makes it clear that it’s possible for anyone to realize almost any dream, and he breaks down the actions you need to take to make it happen. I love this guy because he understands the power of action and determination, but he doesn’t discount the role of the mind and the power of thought.
#8. Super Brain – Deepak Chopra and Rudolph E. Tanzi
One of the most informative books that I’ve read on the brain and memory, Super Brain goes in depth on the capabilities of the human brain and how people can harness its full potential, even in old age. Deepak Chopra teamed up with Rudolph Tanzi, a professor of neurology at Harvard, to write this insightful book that can help you and your parents and grandparents as they age.
Packed with tips and exercises on how to care for and exercise the most important part of our bodies, I’m listing this one as a must-read. Deepak Chopra has many other beautiful and mind-altering books, but I chose this one for its sheer number of applications and universal tips.
#7. The Education of Koko – Francine Patterson and Eugene Linden
This book might not change your life, but it is one of the best books I’ve ever read and I think that it would give you plenty to enjoy and think about. Published in 1981, this book describes how Francine Patterson educated and communicates with Koko, a female western lowland gorilla, using sign language.
Not only does it clearly convey how adept Koko is at learning, but it also shows her innovation and gives us a glimpse of her thoughts. It explores her emotions, how she to refers to both the people she loves and dislikes, and even her ingenious ways of making up words to describe things.
#6. What if This is Heaven – Anita Moorjani
In 2006, Anita Moorjani was in a coma dying from cancer that plagued her entire body. Then, she woke up and the cancer was gone. Anita describes what happened during her coma and how it has shaped her into the person she is today. She shares the lessons that she learned and urges others to be more joyful and to always be true to themselves.
Her simple message is enough to comfort you on a bad day and guide you in a world that can seem overly crowded. After reading her book, you may feel the way she does: that being yourself is all you really need. You can buy it directly from Hay House here.
#5. The Divine Matrix – Gregg Braden
Beautiful, informative, inspiring, freeing; this book is packed with knowledge and discoveries that can help you make more sense of this world and how everything really works. Gregg Braden talks about everything from scientific experiments to the wisdom of Native Americans who knew all along what scientists are just now discovering.
He talks about how people can come together and literally change the world through prayer and meditation as well as the exact number of people that are needed to do so. Groundbreaking and genius, this book will teach you things that you didn’t know were possible. You can get it from Hay House here.
#4. Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Wayne Dyer was such a beautiful man and a great contributor to this world. He not only graced us with his own wisdom through his words and his writing, but he also introduced many people in the western world to the Tao Te Ching. Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life provides each of Lao-tsu’s teachings from the Tao Te Ching along with a reflection and interpretation by Wayne Dyer.
Through it, you will learn about peace, wisdom, and letting things be, and you’ll begin to understand that everything unfolds perfectly. #3. The Law of Attraction – Esther and Jerry Hicks
The basics of the law of attraction are detailed in this book by Esther and Jerry Hicks, the leading people when it comes to all things law of attraction. They didn’t invent the law of attraction, but they simply have a way of explaining it that has made sense to millions of people for decades. Understanding the law of attraction makes an enormous impact on your life because you become more aware of what you’re thinking and feeling and how it influences your experiences.

#2. You Can Heal Your Life – Louise L. Hay
This book changed my life during my lowest period many years ago. I had just come out of a very bad relationship that gave me more than a few traumatizing experiences, and I had no self-esteem. I was at the bottom and there was no where to go but up. My therapist showed me this book and the You Can Heal Your Life movie, and it put the spark back into my life that I thought would never return.
In her book, Louise talks about healing from trauma, living a healthy life, and most importantly, loving yourself. Louise Hay is the QUEEN of self-love, self-care, and self-respect and is one of the most wonderful teachers on earth. I think everyone should read this book at least once in their life.
#1. The Biology of Belief – Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D.
Everything you think you know about genetics is wrong. Unless you have read this book. Bruce Lipton was among the very first scientists to explore Epigenetics and to introduce to the world the concept that our beliefs select the behavior of our cells. We are not victims of our genes as many people still believe today.
If you want to learn about how cells really work and how you can literally reverse and eliminate disease, read The Biology of Belief. After reading this book, you will understand the importance of environment and how the way you view the world around you is shaping your life.
