Teladoc Health has announced that its services are now accessible through Walmart’s Better Care Services platform, expanding virtual care options for millions of users.
The Walmart Better Care platform allows customers to explore and access telehealth services from a variety of providers, including Included Health, Curai, and Wheel Health. With this new collaboration, customers can receive care from Teladoc Health for a cash price of $89 per visit. This includes 24/7 care for common conditions such as sinus infections, pink eye, and cold and flu symptoms. Additionally, users can access dermatological treatments and consult with a professional dietitian for nutritional advice. This service is particularly beneficial for those without insurance, although it remains available for insured individuals as well.
If a patient requires a prescription, it can be sent to any pharmacy, including Walmart’s own locations.
“Millions of Americans already turn to Walmart for their daily health and wellness needs,” said Kelly Bliss, president of the US health group at Teladoc Health, in an email. “At Teladoc, we also serve millions of Americans, with the largest national network of virtual care providers. This partnership creates a new touchpoint, integrating our clinical network and trusted services directly into the Walmart experience. With the scale and reach of both brands, together we are creating a more accessible care journey.”
The partnership allows Walmart to provide consumers with more choices for their health care options.
“Health care should be easier to access, easier to understand, and more affordable,” remarked Leslie Fletcher, vice president of strategy and partnerships at Walmart US Health & Wellness. “By adding Teladoc Health, we continue to expand the Better Care services with more care options, coupled with fast and convenient access to daily health needs and prescriptions.”
This announcement follows the integration of BetterHelp, Teladoc’s mental health subsidiary, into Walmart’s Better Care Services platform in January. BetterHelp offers consumers access to therapy and support for depression and anxiety.
Teladoc is also part of Amazon’s Health Benefits Connector program, which connects people with digital health companies outside of Amazon that are covered by their employer.
Through its collaboration with Walmart, Teladoc aims to reach individuals who may otherwise struggle to access care. Bliss noted, “Once a member is engaged, we have the opportunity to connect them with the full spectrum of available services to meet their health needs over time. Our objective is to meet people where they already make health decisions, making it easier for them to access high-quality care.”
